In a global society, you don’t want a single actor to have complete control over critical things and resources. The purpose of cryptocurrencies and Blockchain technology is to take resources that should be in the public domain and, if they can be digitized, put them in a state where they are fully open and basically build businesses on it. But the underlying infrastructure is no longer controlled.
According to Hoskinson, Blockchain technology can ‘radically’ change the future, creating better government services around the world and making them interoperable with each other.
