Asus has officially announced its new laptops at its ROG themed presentation at CES 2023. Renewing its product range with Intel’s new 13th Generation mobile processors and AMD’s new Ryzen 7000 mobile processors, Asus made important statements.

Asus’ flagship 2023 model ROG Zephyrus DUO 16 laptop will be animated with the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 mobile processors. We knew that AMD was preparing its own high-performance chips for laptops that would offer similar features to the Zen 4 desktop CPUs, known as Dragon Range, but Asus’ ambitious rhetoric raised expectations. During the presentation, Asus said, “In our testing, we were able to increase performance by up to 10%, reaching the level of the Ryzen 9 7950X desktop processor.” made the statement.

This statement by Asus seems to have been said for the Ryzen 9 7945HX, the top model of the Ryzen 7000-HX family. AMD will use a 16 core 32 thread configuration with 76 MB of cache in this mobile processor. So these are almost the same specifications as the Ryzen 9 7950X.
Asus states that they achieved 10 percent performance increase thanks to improved cooling solutions. Dragon Range Ryzen 7000 mobile processors will also support PBO (Precision Boost Overdrive) overclocking. Therefore, a performance increase can be achieved on a laptop with a good cooling, as Asus does.

On the other hand, we saw similar strong performance gains in Intel’s Raptor Lake mobile HX processor series the other day. However, Asus’ statements show that AMD offers superior performance per watt.
