YouTube is starting to test new artificial intelligence music features developed together with Google’s DeepMind artificial intelligence laboratory. The operation of the system is actually quite simple. With productive artificial intelligence, we will give written commands one by one, as we are used to. Artificial intelligence will also create song lyrics in accordance with the commands we give. Afterwards, we will be able to listen to the voices of these artists for up to 30 seconds, from the voices of the singers we have chosen.
Artificial intelligence will create the song and make it sing
For this project, YouTube reached an agreement with nine artists. These names were Alec Benjamin, Charlie Puth, Charli XCX, Demi Lovato, John Legend, Papoose, Sia, T-Pain and Troye Sivan. Making a statement on the subject, Lovato said that she thought artists should also participate in artificial intelligence, which seems to be shaping the future.
Dream Track will use Lyria, which is shown as DeepMind’s most advanced music creation model. YouTube says the addition of Lyria will encourage collecting feedback for future products and tools.

Lyor Cohen, head of YouTube’s music department, and Tony Reid, one of the company’s senior managers, said that they believe that this initiative can make discoveries about how technology can be used to create a deeper bond between artists and fans, and also explained that music can be created using the feature. With this new tool, it will be possible to create music with wind instruments by humming or making sounds.
“The potential of artificial intelligence is incredibly exciting,” Cohen said. “But we need to approach any new technology responsibly, and we haven’t forgotten that. That means understanding that the purpose of AI is to augment human creativity—not replace it.” he said.
YouTube also released two sample songs created using this feature.
