This time, the company has prepared two new features for Instagram with the artificial intelligence model Emu, which focuses on images. These new features will increase users’ content creation capabilities. Because now, both the image editing process and the video production process will be entrusted to artificial intelligence. You will be able to make changes to the image by typing a text.
Instagram’s first new feature, called “Emu Edit”, will allow you to make changes to an image with text. Moreover, in this process, there will be no need to manually select the section in the image to be changed. Meta’s artificial intelligence model will understand exactly what is required from the written text and make changes accordingly. In this way, users who do not have knowledge about editing will be able to produce the image they dream of.
The example we shared above shows more clearly how the feature will work. The dog in the image is transformed into a bench with a laptop on it with the first text written. Then the background is changed. The important point of Emu Edit is that it allows you to make every edit step by step.
Video will be produced automatically from just one text
The second feature to be added to Instagram is called “Emu Video”. This new feature will convert a text prepared by the user into a video. The examples shared for Emu Video make us think that the videos produced from texts are far from realistic, but the results obtained are quite sufficient for the first stage.
Neither Mark Zuckerberg nor Instagram developers made a statement regarding when Emu-based features will be added to the platform. However, the new features that will be released sooner or later will be very useful for at least some users. After all, third parties like Adobe and Google offer technologies similar to Emu-based features. By doing this internally, Instagram will eliminate the need for third-party apps.
