Now, technology giant Apple, with a new decision, has brought a “supplementary vaccine obligation” to its employees.
Employees who are not vaccinated will have to undergo testing
According to an email discovered by The Verge, Apple, one of the world’s largest companies, has imposed a booster dose requirement on store and company employees. In the e-mail, an employee who is eligible for a booster dose will be given 4 weeks to be vaccinated; Otherwise, it was emphasized that he would have to take a test to enter stores or offices. It is stated that this application will start from February 15th.
Last year, Apple imposed daily testing on unvaccinated employees and weekly testing on vaccinated employees; however, this practice reduced the frequency of tests afterward. With the new news, it has been revealed that the tests performed on employees who do not have the supplement vaccine will increase again. Meta (formerly Facebook), another technology giant apart from Apple, also stated in its statements earlier this week that the booster dose vaccine will be mandatory for employees as of March. Google, on the other hand, has not yet implemented a requirement for booster vaccines; however, the company had made two doses of COVID-19 vaccine and weekly tests mandatory for its employees as part of the decisions it had previously announced.
