The Chinese manufacturer, which entered the market with OnePlus Watch, is looking to launch a new smart watch called OnePlus Watch 2, this time by building on its old watch. The design of the highly anticipated watch was revealed before it was even introduced.
OnePlus Watch 2 is slightly larger than its predecessor
OnLeaks, which is famous for its leaks in the industry, has obtained images and a few details of OnePlus Watch 2. It is worth remembering that these images are based on real images of a prototype in the testing phase. Therefore the final product may differ slightly from what we see here. Although this is not the final version of the watch, it is obvious that it will be similar to this to a large extent.
According to the renders, the OnePlus Watch 2 looks like it will have a circular design like its predecessor. According to the leak, the device has a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen. This means the new device is slightly larger than the first version at 1.39 inches.
Another striking feature about the OnePlus Watch 2 is the slight protrusion on the side. It looks like this is where the two physical buttons will sit. Additionally, the watch appears to have a metal case and appears to come with black or white rubber straps.
OnePlus Watch 2 is said to have Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chip. It is also said that if the company decides to stick to the RTOS platform this time, this chip will be seriously underserved. A OnePlus product manager previously stated that the reason OnePlus used RTOS instead of Wear OS was to give the watch longer battery life.
It’s unclear whether OnePlus will go this route again, but we’ll learn more as we get closer to launch. There is currently no information other than the fact that the launch will be in 2024. It is still a matter of curiosity how the OnePlus Watch 2 will perform in terms of battery.
