WhatsApp is now adding the “Expiring Groups” feature to its successive innovations. This feature will allow users to set up groups that will automatically close after a stipulated time. For example, if you’ve created a group for an event, you might want that group set to close automatically after the event ends.
This leak comes from Wabetainfo, which has a good track record. According to the post, the feature was spotted on iOS in Beta Update 2.23.5.71.
When you use the upcoming Disappearing Groups feature, other users will be able to see that it is a disappearing group in the Group Info section. The administrators of the group will be able to make the groups they have opened as disappearing permanent if they wish. They will also have the ability to change the disappearance time.
It is not yet known when the Disappearing Groups feature will come to the stable version. But considering that it is currently available to iOS Beta users, it should not be hard to guess that we will not wait too long.
