The main camera of the 12S Ultra will be Sony’s 50 Megapixel IMX989 image sensor. This 1-inch sensor will be on a smartphone for the first time.
In a post of the event announcement on Twitter, followers asked the difference between the Xiaomi12S Ultra and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. With that, Lei Jun made a statement. “The Mi 12 Ultra is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, which was originally scheduled to launch in March and April but was canceled. We upgraded the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC for a better experience. Qualcomm and Leica have been developing the camera and software for months. Then we will have a better experience with the 12S Ultra.”
In addition to all this, it is claimed that the Xiaomi 12S series will not be on sale overseas. Another rumor is that the company will bring these first Leica-supported phones only to Chinese users. It is thought that the Xiomi 12T series will be offered for sale globally instead of the Xiaomi 12S series.
