Support for the first Apple Watch has ended
For those who don’t know, Apple classifies its devices as obsolete after a period of seven years. In a notification obtained by MacRumors, it was revealed that all first-generation Apple Watch models were added to this list. These discontinued models include the 18-carat gold-plated Apple Watch Edition, which sells for approximately 17 thousand dollars, including 38 mm and 42 mm aluminum and stainless steel versions.
At this stage, we should point out that all first generation Watch models will no longer receive updates. Additionally, technical support will not be offered in stores or authorized services. Of course, just because Apple does not release updates does not mean that these models will stop working. However, it is worth noting that it will be vulnerable to more limited support and security threats.
Considering that the first Apple Watch is almost 9 years old, it’s fair to say that this development isn’t surprising. However, the inclusion of the 18-carat Apple Watch Edition model in this classification may upset users a little.
